Ahead of the UEFA Women’s Champions League clash against Benfica at the Allianz Stadium, Tatiana Pinto and Head Coach Isaac Guerrero spoke at the pre-match press conference.

“These emotional few days show that we are competing at a very demanding level and that Juventus play every competition to win. We have a deep squad and we are all physically prepared to face these challenges. I expect a difficult match against Benfica: no two games in football are the same, they have a lot of new players and we have also changed the way we play. We are Juventus and we always play to win.
“It is difficult to say whether we are stronger than last year because we are only at the beginning of the season. We have a squad with many different qualities and each of us can contribute towards achieving our objectives. Personally, I don't want to talk too much about the past: I always want to help the team in any way I can. This is a different moment now, we have a different style of play and I can say that I am very happy to be here. Playing at the Allianz Stadium, especially in the Champions League, is very special. We also feel at home in Biella, but playing here is always special because we have our fans close to us and we want to celebrate a victory together with them.”

“The girls did a fantastic job against Roma: it wasn't easy to come from behind against such a strong team. We were completely dominant in the second half and during extra time, and I went into the penalty shootout feeling very calm. Now we expect a tough match against Benfica, a very strong team who always look to attack, particularly down the flanks. They will test us and we can't wait to face such a historic club.
“This will be the last time we talk about tiredness. The girls have fought hard to play in the Champions League and fatigue won't show because the whole squad is involved. Then there is the Allianz Stadium, which will help the girls forget about any tiredness. It will be a wonderful feeling to play on a stage like this and I am very happy to see the girls playing here. They all deserve to play in a stadium like this, as do the Benfica players.
“Physically, we are ready. We have a diverse squad capable of providing different solutions, with players who are all working in the same direction while bringing their own talent and individual qualities. I see this team as ready to compete. We will continue with our Plan A: sometimes we haven't managed to execute it fully, but we will keep working to implement it on the pitch.
“High expectations are positive for us. We are pleased that these girls are attracting more attention because they are fierce competitors and thrive on competitive challenges. During the Mini Tournament there were decisive moments that the girls handled with maturity and personality. We play for the fans who are proud of Juventus Women and, in the difficult moments we have already faced, the girls have always delivered.
“As for not having a natural alternative to Carbonell, it is a situation many teams face because there are fewer left-footed players. However, we have several players who are comfortable building from the back even when playing on their opposite side. Federica, Cecilia and Martina, for example, can all use their left foot well even though it isn't their stronger foot.”
