The Women’s First Team brought their Serie A Women’s Cup group stage to an end in perfect style on Sunday afternoon, beating Milan 1-0 in Biella to maintain their 100% record ahead of the Final Four.
Ana Capeta got the game’s only goal in the second half, keeping the Bianconere perfect in domestic competitive action this season.

It was the Rossonere who started stronger in Biella, and Larissa Rusek was in fine form between the posts for the hosts to keep them out. The Bianconere’s first chance came through Annamaria Serturini, who tested Sandra Estevez inside a quarter of an hour.
But Milan kept coming and Thea Kyvag brought a great save out of Rusek before she again reacted well to deny Sara Fornes. Then it was Martina Rosucci’s turn to make an important intervention on Sara Stokic, as the Rossoneri kept looking for the opener.
Remina Chiba led the charge as the Bianconere grew into the game towards the end of the second half, and she went close with a shot that was deflected behind.
After the break, it was a different game and the momentum had shifted, but it took until the 78th minute for the deadlock to be broken by Ana Capeta. Fellow substitute Danique Noordman led a counterattack before Capeta confidently finished past Estevez.
Cecilia Salvai had a chance to make it two shortly after, but sent her effort over.
Captea’s day ended early, though, with the Portuguese forward forced off with injury she picked up after having worked back to protect the lead.
Milan came forward again in search of a late leveller, but it wasn’t to be for them and the Bianconere held on for all three points.
Now, all eyes are on Monday’s semi-final draw.
