Roma left Biella with the points after coming out on top of the Juventus Women’s First Team in a one-goal game on Serie A Women Matchday 19.

THE MATCH REPORT

The visitors announced their presence early and posed a threat through Emilie Haavi, who arrived to meet a cross at the back post but turned her close-range effort wide.

The Bianconere looked to grow into the game as time passed, but were dealt a blow when Chiara Beccari was forced off after a quarter of an hour.

Beccari’s replacement, Barbara Bonansea, looked to create after her introduction and came close to providing an assist. Amalie Vangsgaard was on the end of a cross from the winger, but the No.14 couldn’t turn her effort on goal.

Eva Schatzer then took her turn to carve things open, again for Vangsgaard, but Rachele Baldi in the Roma goal managed to close her down. The half then ended after Ana Capeta forced Baldi into a save with a headed effort.

Into the second half and just before the hour mark, the hosts took the lead. A cross into the area saw Giulia Dragoni beat Larissa Rusek to the ball, and the young Roma midfielder turned in the opener.

Bonansea sought a leveller but saw an effort come back off the crossbar, while at the other end Rusek did well to deny both Evelyne Viens and Manuela Giugliano from doubling the visitors’ advantage.
