Coach Thiago Motta and Mattia Perin spoke to the press after Juventus’ loss on penalties against Empoli in the Coppa Italia Quarter-Finals.
THIAGO MOTTA
“I feel completely responsible, I'm ashamed of what we saw on the pitch. In the first half there was a complete lack of the required attitude, it means that I didn't convey to the boys what it means to play in a game like that in a Juventus shirt. You can misplace passes, you can miss shots. But you can't lack the correct attitude. It was a very important game for us and we got it completely wrong. We as a team have to do much better than we did in the first half.”

MATTIA PERIN
“We put in a first half performance of which we feel ashamed, I'm struggling to find the right words. We failed to recognise the importance of this match and we all have to take a long hard look at ourselves. We are sad and disappointed, we must understand that what did not give enough for the shirt. It is unacceptable to fail to progress through the quarter-finals at home, it is a huge disappointment. We were not at the level required when you play in this shirt and for this club.”
