What has already been an intense start to this 2024/25 season continues on Saturday afternoon for the Juventus Women's First Team, who travel to Liguria to take on Sampdoria. Kick-off is set for 18:00 CEST.
With the Bianconere having had a packed schedule already combining Serie A and the Women's Champions League - in which they play their first group stage game away at Valerenga in midweek - Massimiliano Canzi has had a lot on his plate.
Canzi shared his pre-Sampdoria thoughts a day out from the game:
“This could have been the last working week without a midweek game for a while, but, having played on Monday and then again on Saturday, the timetable isn’t too dissimilar," Canzi began. "We’re not worried, we have a good working plan and the two fundamentals are recovery and preparation. We’re been working well in recent weeks, so we’re in good shape, and our overall game plan means we never have to start strictly from scratch when preparing for a match. I have to say, for a coach, it’s great to have so many matches to prepare for.”
POSITIVE SIGNS
“The girls did well in the last game, they maintained a balance that wasn’t easy to do. We’re away of the fact that we have a lot of quality and if a game is open our girls have the means to take the points home. But we have to pay attention to the defensive phase, we gave away too many goals in pre-season and at the start of the season, but now the work we’re doing is having good results.”
EYES ON SAMP
“The game at Sampdoria won’t be easy, because they try to keep you at an arm’s length with a good game plan. We’ll have to be switched on for the whole game. There aren’t any easy opponents in this league, every team presents challenges, and we know that well. We will play every game this year by giving it the utmost attention.”
